History of the Retired Military Police Officers' Reunions
The tradition of the MP Corps Anniversary Celebration by the Retired Military Police Officers was started in Orlando, Florida, in 1976 by a small group of retired MP officers. The first affair, held at the Rolling Hills Country Club, included golf and an evening of cocktails and dinner. Without realizing, these attendees established a precedent that has remained unbroken ever since. In 1980, the "tradition" expanded to other locations with the return to Fort Gordon, the home of the MP Corps until 1975.
