History of the Retired Military Police Officers' Reunions
The tradition of the MP Corps Anniversary Celebration by the Retired Military Police Officers was started in Orlando, Florida, in 1976 by a small group of retired MP officers. The first affair, held at the Rolling Hills Country Club, included golf and an evening of cocktails and dinner. Without realizing, these attendees established a precedent that has remained unbroken ever since. In 1980, the "tradition" expanded to other locations with the return to Fort Gordon, the home of the MP Corps until 1975. The following list of reunion sites depict the chronology of this unbroken tradition:
